Before I continue with today’s post—let me just say this . . . I realize that there was indeed a Saint Nicholas who went around and did good deeds throughout his community. I understand that carrying on his tradition and legend by giving children gifts on Christmas is fun and creates lasting memories. I have no problem with Santa, and can remember having fun as a child myself. That being said, I wish we would all focus more on Jesus. After all, it’s His party. I heard this song the other day playing in a store. As I listened to the traditional, fun-loving classic…I thought about the words as I hummed along. Sometimes it seems that we as a society try to instill a fear into our children to do right because of the consequences of Santa. It’s like we want them to fear him and to be concerned that he’s always watching, and he’s going to come back and judge those who have been naughty and nice. So, I decided to rewrite the lyrics just a bit to put emphasizes where it should really be—back on Jesus. He’s the only One who knows everything—and who is really coming back (in fact, who’s to say He hasn’t already made His presence known here on earth already–now that’s food for thought, huh). Anyway, I still think it’s okay to sing about Santa—but I just wanted to throw this out there too.

We love you Jesus and hope that you always feel invited to come to our house and find us diligently striving to be on Your Nice list! : )

You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I’m telling you why
Jesus Christ is coming to town
He’s making a list
And checking it twice;
Already knows Who’s naughty and nice
Jesus Christ  is coming to town
He sees you when you’re sleeping
He knows when you’re awake
He knows if you’ve been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!
O! You better watch out!
You better not cry
Better not pout
I’m telling you why
Jesus Christ is coming to town
Jesus Christ is coming to town

Angels

If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your dwelling. For He orders His angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you with their hands to keep you from striking your foot on a stone. You will trample down lions and poisonous snakes; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet! The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in My name. When they call on Me, I will answer; I will rescue them and honor them. I will satisfy them with a long life and give them My salvation” (Psalms 91:9-16).

The Bible is full of stories about angels. They are messengers, they protect, intervene, and they worship THE One and Only True God. I’ve been thinking about this passage a lot lately. I know God has protected me many times during my life….as well as those I love. I wonder just how many times I’ve been in the presence of one of these servants and not even been aware of it. The Bible tells us to be kind to strangers, that sometimes we “entertain angels unaware” (Hebrews 13:2). Isn’t that thought-provoking?? Speaking from my own experiences, I’ve witnessed many things that are hard to describe in humanistic words. Years ago, I used to think I had all the answers. I knew the verses, the answers to the questions, and the do’s and don’ts of Christianity. What arrogance. Here I was trying to put God in a box…defining Him to MY terms. Now? I KNOW that I don’t have all the answers, in fact, I probably don’t have any, and I KNOW that God is bigger than any box. ALL things are possible! Some might disagree with the things I’ve seen such as flashes of lights shooting across the room…twinkling stars floating on the ceiling…. shadows and lights of entities here and there, and the peace and love that always encompasses them. That’s okay.  I won’t argue with skeptics. It really doesn’t matter to me what other people believe. We can all have our differences of opinion.

With Christmas approaching, I was thinking about the angels that told Mary and Joseph about Jesus and the Son that God was giving them. Sometimes I wonder how and why people can read stories in the Bible of miraculous things, but yet skeptical when they experience supernatural events themselves. I’ve oftentimes heard people say, “Well I look for a rational explanation first.” As Christians, shouldn’t our rational explanation be to look at God first? Looking at human justifications before looking to God is contradictory to the claim that God is the core of our existence.

So when we see the lights and experience the protection of God—let us always be grateful for the privilege and honor to know that God is looking out for us.

Father, thank you for sending your angels to watch over us, to guide us, and to protect us from all things that are meant to cause us harm. We know that no scheme of man can interfere with Your plans for our lives. They can try, but we know everyone and everything has to answer to You. May we be humbled to know that You have us in Your hands. Help us to be diligent in serving and promoting You and to be good stewards of all You’ve given us. We want to be good, positive examples—and to represent You well. We love You Father and recognize that ALL good gifts come from You. Thank You for Your angels….may we always be ready and quick to entertain.

Hey,It’s almos…

Hey,

It’s almost Christmas, yes Christmas! So make sure you say “MERRY CHRISTMAS” to everyone you see! We have been checking and listening to some great music that people have directed us to. I can’t believe how much fantastic talent and great music and artists there are out there! This project has been taking a little longer than we first anticipated. But we don’t care. We have no deadlines, and it’s so much fun. This is all for our wonderful Lord! So let’s all get together and get this worldwide jam going!! God Bless!!

Plans for a Future

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:11-13).

There’s a reason we put our faith and hope in the Lord. He knows the plans He has for us and He knows what it’s going to take to get us where He wants us. When we seek Him first above ALL things, He promises to guide us through every step. His plan is to give us hope and a future. What greater treasure is there than to know Him and know that He is in control of everything? I don’t know about you, but I’ll take His plans over mine or anyone else’s any day of the week. His ways are so much better than anything I could ever come up with. Just to know Him is the best reward.

Thank you Father . . . for your love, promises, and plans. We seek you first in everything and want to serve you in everything we do.

Happy Thanksgiving

Thank you Father for every single thing You’ve given us. You’ve put us in a place where we can worship and serve You freely. You’ve given us eternal life through Your persecution and death on the cross, not to mention . . . a roof over our head, clothes on our back, food on our table, and so much more. We love You so much and are very grateful for everything. You’ve blessed us to be a blessing to others. You are our King, Savior, Father, and The One and ONLY True God. All blessings come from you. Without You, we would be nothing. Today we give thanks to YOU and for YOU. Happy Thanksgiving!!

I’ve recently found myself having the same discussion with different people. Having thought about this for a while. . . I thought I’d just share it on here.

Have you ever gone through an experience that you just were not sure of what the outcome was going to be? We all have, right? Well, I recently learned a valuable lesson of faith and trust. God is teaching me that having faith means believing I have everything I need to live one day at a time. Sometimes I get impatient and think, “Okay, I have faith…when is this situation going to clear up now?” But God replies, “Faith doesn’t have a time limit . . . you’re never done having faith. Even when a situation clears up…you still need to know that another one is right around the corner…so always hold on to it.” Sometimes situations we go through are not even really meant for us, but they’re meant to be a tool that we can use to help someone else that God brings into our path. A few weeks ago I submitted a paper I had to write about for a class. It was over a Christian Communicator…someone who had influenced history. I chose to write about Corrie ten Boom.  You may already know the story so I won’t go into detail, suffice it to say, this woman and her sister encountered some very traumatic events inside Ravensbruck concentration camp in Germany during the Holocaust. Her sister, Betsie even died inside there. Before Betsie passed away she told Corrie that she understood why they had been placed there (they were caught hiding Jews inside their family’s home/watch shop in Holland). She said, “God placed us here so that we would be obedient. We can tell people of our experiences and how the love and grace of God can reach through barriers…we can tell them that there is no pit so deep that God is not deeper still, and they will believe us Corrie, because we were here….in hell…we saw it, lived it, and experienced it.”

I just want to encourage those that might be going through a difficult time right now . . . that this too shall pass. God already knows the outcome, so rest in His assurance and remember that His grace is sufficient for you. We may never fully understand why we are placed in certain circumstances, but that’s okay. Isn’t it awesome to know that we are not required to figure it out? We are called to be obedient. He will give us everything we need to get through each day, each situation, and each circumstance. His love is awesome and He gives it so willingly. Just remember, “There’s no pit so deep, that God is not deeper still.”

Happy Birthday

Hey Dad,

I woke up this morning, didn’t feel to well.  I knew today just was not going to be the same. What I missed about you, was when i would be in my room or another part of the house listening to you sing along to your favorite songs in the basement or your errrrr—— close to “Mozartish” piano playing, but maybe a few more million hours of practice, which I’m sure is part of your new routine now. Hahaha. I find myself doing the same thing now, but on drums instead… hahahahaha. The apple does not fall far from the tree. to My dad Rosario Iapicco, whom I lost 2 years ago. I’m working on a song that I hope one day, we will be able sing together heaven. Happy Birthday Dad. I love you.

Tom

Without you Sweet God. We are nothing. But you are so Sweet and loving you are here. Love you forever. Hi Sweet Pea Jesus.

Here now, and we need you. And we need you so much. Peace from here on forever. Amen!

What The…?

Wow, I never knew how many people on this earth had a hand in actually creating it and the moon as well as the rest of the universe. Judging by how many dooms day prophets that are popping out of the wood work to cash in on people’s fears and anxieties is unbelievable. Maybe we all don’t hear from God the way we wish we could is because for some reason everyone seems to think they are in fact God. And judging by the fact that so many of us are first in line to Make MONEY off tragedies, and atrocities, it’s VERY clear that we know nothing of His ways. Obviously, people need to put a sock in it. Including me, so I’ll end this blog now, and return to this blog over and over again to at least make it look like many people are reading it! Ha! :-)

Ok, back to recording! God Bless!
